LAGC Team Receives Investments from Alex Morgan and Michelle Wie

Former US Women’s Open champion Michelle Wie West and US women’s soccer icon Alex Morgan have invested in the Los Angeles franchise of the technology-focused golf league, the TGL, aiming to make golf more accessible and democratic.

They join an impressive list of LAGC owners, including Serena Williams, Alexis Ohanian, Venus Williams, and NBA star Giannis Antetokoumpo. LAGC is committed to contributing ten percent of sponsorship revenue to community programs in Southern California.

TGL, a six-team golf competition, seeks to attract a broad audience through technological innovation and a shorter format. Supported by TMRW Sports, co-founded by Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and former NBC Sports executive Mike McCarley, the league will begin its inaugural season in January.

Other franchises are set to launch in Boston, New York, and Atlanta, with ESPN reportedly finalizing a broadcast rights deal for the competition.

Wie West is enthusiastic about partnering with fellow LAGC owners and expanding playing opportunities for female golfers through technology. The goal is to introduce the sport to a wider audience, including city dwellers, new parents with limited time, and those interested in social golf experiences.

This move represents a significant step in democratizing golf and leveraging technology to create a new space for modern-age golfers.

Golf tech also continues to increase.
