Teamworks, a SaaS company that provides enterprise services to professional and collegiate sports organizations around the world, has announced The Operating System for Sports as its next phase of growth.
The sports tech company announced the acquisition of four top-in-class technologies.
These include:
Smartabase – an elite platform for human performance optimization for elite sports and military organizations
Retain – a collegiate academics platform and athlete development platform
Grafted – a collegiate athletic alumni engagement platform
NextPlay – a collegiate athletic alumni engagement platform
All of these will be consolidated and rebranded as Teamworks Communities. Teamworks announced plans to create a best-in-class collegiate compliance solution, which will be fully integrated into Teamworks’ operational system.
Teamworks closed a Series D financing round on June 20, 2022 in order to improve performance and innovate within its existing product portfolio, expand into new product categories and hire top industry talent.
The sports tech company now has 9 solutions under its umbrella.
“With the acquisitions of Smartabase, Retain, Grafted, and NextPlay, Teamworks continues to unite the sports industry’s top technology companies and its most innovative leaders,” said Zach Maurides, Founder and CEO of Teamworks.
“The addition of these products solidifies Teamworks’ impact on each phase of the athlete lifecycle and its indispensable position serving elite athletic organizations. While Teamworks has always supported the performance of athletes, Smartabase’s expertise in military human performance will benefit all of our customers collectively.”
Smartabase’s acquisition is the largest ever in Teamworks history.
It completes Teamworks’ entry into the human performance market. Smartabase’s 120-strong team of technology specialists, sports scientists, and industry professionals is the best source for integrated performance, medical, and health data.
