Tally Technology Lands $4M for Sports Prediction Platform

Free-to-play sports prediction platform Tally Technology (founded in 2018 by NFL quarterback Russell Wilson) has raised US$4 million in funding to expand its business and develop a suite of data-driven services for the betting industry.

The financing was led by venture fund Acies Investments. They focus on sports wagering, sports technology, iGaming, and the esports industries.

Data and Betting

Tally Technology offers free-to-play prediction games for brands, professional sports teams, leagues, and media platforms seeking a turnkey fan engagement platform.

As part of the natural gameplay, Tally is building a database of unique users and gathering data on those users’ gaming, wagering, brand preferences, consumer spending, and other insights.

In their first few years of business, Tally has recorded over 20 million predictions from unique users across the Western hemisphere.

They have an impressive lineup of clients including the:

  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Buffalo Bills
  • Los Angeles Lakers
  • Atlanta Hawks
  • St Louis Blues
  • Edmonton Oilers
  • Los Angeles Kings

With the closing of this $4M seed investment, Tally will continue to invest in its data platform, expand its operations, and build out a wider variety of game types.

Fan Engagement x Data

The sports betting market has exploded over the last couple of years as legalization spread throughout the US.

With high acquisition costs, companies who control the data for potential betting customers will be rewarded handsomely.

Fan engagement is another growing area throughout sports as companies try to win over fans in the digital world.

Looking Ahead For Tally Technology

As the sports betting and fan engagement markets continue to grow, companies that can provide the services and data will be in a nice position. Tally Technologies is building the pick-n-shovel for everyone else to go and search for gold.
