Takes, a groundbreaking sports experience app, has officially launched out of beta after securing $1.6 million in pre-seed funding.
The app is supported by notable industry figures including Riccardo Silva (Co-Owner of AC Milan and Miami FC), Carlo Pozzali (co-founder of MP & Silva), Astralis Capital (a digital sports and gambling-focused fund), and Joe Inzerillo (CPO + CTO at Sirius and Tech Visionary behind MLBAM & BAMTech), is set to transform the way sports fans engage with their favorite teams and events. Takes offers an interactive, crowd-sourced, and easily digestible sports content experience, with its initial user base spanning over 15 college campuses across the United States.
Created by former MLB and Amazon product executive Michael Iams, Takes serves as a dynamic hub where sports enthusiasts can share their high-quality video commentary, interact with friends and fellow fans, make live predictions, and access highlights, statistics, and analysis.
Michael Iams, CEO and Co-Founder of Takes, commented, “Sports have always revolved around those thrilling moments that captivate devoted fans. Takes enhances these moments by creating a sense of being in a sports bar with your closest friends. By leveraging AI-driven personalization, real-time interactions, and collaborative content creation, Takes engages the next generation of sports fans on their mobile devices, whether they’re at the game, watching live, or simply seeking quick content or statistics.”
Consumer Sports App Takes Live
Powered by advanced artificial intelligence, Takes curates a personalized content feed based on users’ preferences, such as following a favorite team, tracking fantasy leagues, or staying updated on key players. Users can connect with fellow fans in real-time, fostering lively discussions and building an active and inclusive sports community.
Takes provides users with a comprehensive suite of content creation tools and real-time statistics, allowing them to assume the role of color commentators. These tools include picture-in-picture editing, telestrators for annotating live plays, and augmented reality filters for expressing fandom.
Liz Ludwig, COO and Co-Founder of Takes, highlighted the unique appeal of the app to Gen Z sports fans, stating, “Existing social platforms often struggle to meet the specific needs of Gen Z sports enthusiasts. This younger demographic desires more than passive content consumption; they seek interactive and personalized experiences that seamlessly fit into their digital-native lifestyles. Takes answers this demand by enabling fans not only to watch but also to actively participate in and discuss the games they love in real-time.”
