SportVot Raises ₹9.4 Crore in Pre-Series A Funding to Digitalize and Make Grassroots Sports More Accessible

SportVot, a leading platform in sports broadcasting and talent identification, has successfully secured ₹9.4 Crore in its latest Pre-Series A financing round. This funding, spearheaded by Omidyar Network India and supported by contributions from Anicut Capital, StartupLynk, Ventana Ventures, along with prior investors Capital A, Ankur Capital, SucSEED Indovation Fund, and Marwah Sports, represents a significant advancement in SportVot’s initiative to make sports more accessible through innovative technology.

Since its establishment in 2019, SportVot has set the pace in offering a full range of digital services aimed at streaming sports events and uncovering new talent at India’s grassroots level. The platform has been instrumental in both broadcasting grassroots sports and attracting investment towards local sports entities, transforming the way sports are broadcasted through the use of cloud technology.

Sidhhant Agarwal, the Co-founder of SportVot, shared his enthusiasm for the new investments, emphasizing the company’s plans to broaden its technological and product base both locally and internationally. He remarked on the mission to democratize access to sports technology for athletes and sports organizations everywhere.

Rohan Vyavaharkar, Director at Omidyar Network India, emphasized SportVot’s potential impact, noting its key role in fostering grassroots sports and making the discovery of new talent more inclusive. He praised the platform’s innovative technology, which enables broadcasting from any location with internet connectivity, and expressed confidence in the vision of SportVot’s founders.

The investment will be channeled towards enhancing the accessibility of live sports content and data collection across all sports levels, both in India and globally. It aims to foster a culture of both professional and recreational play, and to further commercialize domestic sports. In the past four years, SportVot has digitized over 95,000 matches across more than 15 sports, bringing to light over 350,000 athletes.

Sidhhant Agarwal, sharing future aspirations, mentioned plans to digitize over 500,000 games worldwide, continuing to unlock new opportunities for emerging talents.

With this crucial financial support, SportVot is poised for further expansion, aiming to redefine the digital sports landscape and increase visibility for athletes in India and internationally.
