Dutch Sport Tech Fund has made an investment in Scala Sports, an Amsterdam-based sports technology company. Scala Sports plans to use the funds to enhance its organization and expand its operations in the United States.
The company recently signed a deal with the American Tennis Association (USTA), which it believes has given it an edge over American competitors.
About Scala Sports
Scala Sports was founded by Leon Haverkamp and Bart van Monsjou when they encountered challenges in finding tennis partners while working abroad. Their experiences led them to create a digital platform that offers more freedom and convenience for arranging tennis matches.
The platform was established over six years ago with the goal of allowing users to schedule tennis games when they want, similar to booking other activities online.
Padel is a potential future sport on the app platform.
Software For Racquet Sports
Scala Sports is a competition platform for racket sports that allows players to join competitions near them and play at their convenience.
They provide their platform to associations and clubs to organize both regular and flexible competitions. Presently, it is used by the American and Dutch tennis associations, serving around 70,000 players.
The company operates in approximately ten cities and plans to expand to 300 American cities in the coming years, using growth capital to expand and professionalize its team and add more sports beyond tennis and padel, including pickleball, badminton, golf, and others.
