The US-based National Cycling League (NCL) has welcomed new investors this week, including Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman’s Boardroom Sports Holdings, former NFL wide receiver Desmond Howard, and DraftKings CEO Jason Robins. NCL, the first majority-women and minority-owned professional sports league in the US, is dedicated to diversity and inclusion in professional sports ownership.
The league’s investor roster already includes notable figures from sports, business, venture capital, and entertainment, such as Jalen Ramsey, Derwin James, Emmanuel Acho, and Michele Roberts.
Rich Kleiman, CEO of Boardroom Sports Holdings, expressed enthusiasm for NCL’s fan-focused model and commitment to growth. Desmond Howard, former NFL player and ESPN analyst, emphasized the league’s inclusivity and accessibility, noting his excitement to contribute to cycling’s expansion.
NCL President and co-founder Paris Wallace welcomed the new investors, highlighting their support for the league’s vision and community impact. NCL has conducted races in Miami, Denver, and Atlanta as part of its 2023 NCL Cup series, featuring innovative race formats and live scoring through its unique scoreboard system.
