Russell Westbrook, the NBA player for the LA Clippers, has officially announced his investment in the English soccer club Leeds United.
Westbrook confirmed that he is part of the investor group led by the San Francisco 49ers, which is acquiring ownership of the team.
49ers Enterprises, the investment arm of the San Francisco 49ers NFL team, has been a shareholder in Leeds United since May 2018. Leeds owner Andrea Radrizzani recently agreed to sell his stake in the club to 49ers Enterprises.
Following their relegation from the Premier League, Leeds United will compete in the second-tier Championship for the upcoming season.

Other athletes confirmed as investors in Leeds United include golfers Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth.
Alongside them are NBA players Andre Iguodala, Russell Westbrook, TJ McConnell, and Larry Nance Jr.
Others include Michael Phelps, Myles Jack, Erik Johnson, and Gabriel Landeskog.
