JUSTDATA®, a rapidly growing firm in the financial technology (fintech) sector, is making significant strides in reshaping the shopping center industry and collegiate athletics landscape.
The company has entered into a groundbreaking partnership with The 1890 Initiative, a NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) collective in Nebraska.
This partnership will provide $5 million over the next decade to support NIL opportunities for student-athletes in Husker Volleyball.
The 1890 Initiative, led by former Husker Matt Davison and owned by Tom and Shawn Peed of Sandhills Global, is the first of many partnerships that JUSTDATA® is pursuing to transform college athletics using financial technologies. The company is currently in negotiations with the top 25 collegiate athletics programs in the country.
Just Data and Nebraska?
In 2013, JUSTDATA® joined forces with Nebraska Crossing to revolutionize the shopping center industry. They introduced the first-ever patent-pending Fintech Ecosystem Cashback Mobile Application, focusing on building strong customer relationships.
The platform offers FASTCASH™ rewards for shopping within the ecosystem, creating loyal customers.
FASTCASH™ is earned through in-store transactions and can be redeemed at any of Nebraska Crossing’s 90+ global and national brands, including participating athletic brand supporters. The unique aspect of FASTCASH™ is that it can be used anywhere within the ecosystem, regardless of where it was originally earned.
Customers can access FASTCASH™ by downloading the NEX App and securely linking their credit/debit cards through JUSTDATA’s Fintech partner, Plaid®. The earned cashback is stored in a virtual Visa® card within the app’s wallet.
One of the platform’s key advantages is its seamless onboarding process for new retail brand partners. It requires zero integration with the retail brand partner’s point-of-sale (POS), making it convenient and efficient for brands to join the ecosystem.
Drew Brees Investor
Additionally, JUSTDATA® is working with collectives supporting student-athletes at the University of Nebraska and Purdue University, leveraging the founders’ connection with these athletic programs.
Last year, the company announced a strategic partnership with Drew Brees, who became a strategic investor and partner in both Nebraska Crossing and JUSTDATA®.
Drew Brees has been more active with investing since retiring from football. He was recently announced as an owner of the MLP, a pickleball league.
