Gemini Sports Analytics Raises $3.25M to Advance AI Platform

Gemini Sports Analytics, a Miami-based startup, has successfully completed a Series Seed round of financing, raising $3.25 million. The round was oversubscribed and led by Roger Ehrenberg, co-owner of the Miami Marlins, with participation from investors such as Social Leverage, the Raptor Group, and Florida Funders, among others.

Gemini Sports Analytics offers a no-code AI platform for predictive modeling. The company’s platform serves as a co-pilot for sports organizations by adding advanced analytics and machine learning algorithms to their existing data.

This enables data workers to increase productivity and allows executives to more effectively leverage data insights in areas such as talent identification, talent development, roster management, on-field tactics, and player performance.

The startup has made significant progress in recent months, signing its first customers in the NFL and NCAA. Gemini Sports Analytics has been featured at prominent events in the sports analytics field, including the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics Conference and the NBA Summer League Tech Expo.

Roger Ehrenberg, who has been involved in seeding data platform unicorns like DataDog and Data Robot, sees Gemini as a significant player in the sports data revolution. He believes the company has the potential to provide valuable insights to global sports franchises.

Ryan Whittemore, General Partner of Florida Funders, emphasizes the importance of data analytics in the future of professional and high-level amateur sports operations. Gemini Sports Analytics aims to fill the gap by helping sports organizations harness the power of data to assess players effectively, particularly when large contractual values are at stake.

Jake Schuster, the founder of Gemini Sports Analytics, brings a decade of experience in the professional sports world as a performance coach and sports scientist. He has a deep understanding of the challenges faced by sports organizations in utilizing the wealth of data collected on athletes, which motivated the creation of GSA’s AI-powered platform to make data more accessible and actionable.

GSA’s platform has the potential to transform how sports organizations leverage data for improving player performance, scouting, and overall team management.
