Game Theory Raises $2M for Indian Sports Tech App

The investment comes from industry players such as Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter, Rohan Bopanna, WEH Ventures, Prequate Advisory, and prominent angel investors like Balakrishna Adiga.

The funds will be used to further develop technology, implement skill-based matchmaking, introduce coaching products, and expand the network of smart sporting facilities across India. Game Theory integrates technology to enhance accessibility and engagement in casual sports, addressing common challenges in traditional sports participation, such as finding like-minded players and managing logistics.

Their ongoing technology development aims to encourage consistent sports participation and improve the on-court experience. This includes automated scoring, game highlights, and advanced sports statistics achieved through computer vision and artificial intelligence.

Sudeep Kulkarni, founder of Game Theory, stated that their mission is to foster a community that finds joy and camaraderie in sports. The funding brings them closer to achieving this mission by introducing interactive elements like real-time scorekeeping, video highlights, professional sports-style statistics, and on-court matchmaking.

Nithin Kamath, Founder of Rainmatter, emphasized that Game Theory is making sports more accessible to Indians by addressing the challenges of finding locations to play regularly and matching with similarly skilled individuals. Game Theory is building an ecosystem where players can easily find well-matched opponents and enjoy quality games via an app, similar to the personalized experiences offered in esports.
