Eterlast raises $4.6M Seed Round for Sports NFT Tokens

Barcelona’s new Web3 sports entertainment company Eterlast has announced US$4.6M in seed funding. This is a move to bring NFT digital collectibles to allow fans to license and own highlights and clips from sporting history.

NFTs are only one part of the equation. Eterlast plans to be a leading player in blockchain gaming, which is a key area of the crypto industry. Gamers will have access to more “play-to earn” titles via web browsers and smartphones. There will also be a variety of games.

Joan Roure, CEO and founder of Eterlast, said:

“We are embarked on a mission, building the bridge for the next billion fans to enter Web3. We are targeting to consolidate global fragmented sports that tap into hundreds of millions of fans that enjoy their sport on a regular basis.

We understand NFTs not as a product, but as a technology that enhances the experience of current use cases around gaming, collecting, and experiencing live events.”

The seed round’s leading investor is Oli Strong for Supernode Global. He says that Supernode is thrilled to be able to view NFT/metaverse technologies.

Strong said:

“The team have done a fantastic job to date, securing impressive partnerships and IP to integrate with their platform.

“In our view, there is a huge opportunity at the intersection of Sport and Web3 and Eterlast are uniquely positioned to capitalise on this.

“This is a pivotal point for the company and we’re delighted to be participating alongside so many other specialist investors.”

The world of web3 and sports grows stronger by the day, especially in the college sports space.
