Sensible Weather is a climate technology and insurance company that helps consumers understand the climate and adapt to it. It announced today that it closed a strategic investment with EP Golf Ventures to expand its Weather Guarantee coverage to PGA-affiliated facilities.
PGA Members will have access to Sensible Weather’s Weather Guarantee protection.
This eliminates the need to issue rain checks. It also gives golfers the option of protecting themselves against volatile weather conditions when they book tee times or lodging packages online.
Sensible Weather calculates and manages weather risk, and offers Weather Guarantees that automatically reimburse tee times and other travel-related expenses in the event of rain, extreme temperature, or any other unfavorable weather conditions during a round.
This service will streamline operations for PGA members, increase golfer satisfaction and decrease last-minute cancelations, prevent “rain check” issuance, generate incremental revenue for golf clubs, and reduce stress.
EP Golf Ventures is a new partnership between the PGA of America, Elysian Park Ventures and the private investment arm of the Los Angeles Dodgers ownership. This investment is made alongside a new partnership between Sensible Weather, the PGA of America.
Sensible Weather will be able to expand its Weather Guarantee protection to golf, as well as its existing climate data and risk analysis platform.
