Chris Paul Invests in Umaro Foods $4M Round

Chris Paul is one of the NBA’s most influential investors.

He had a very active week 👇

1. Partnered with grocery delivery platform GoPuff to introduce Good Eat’n – a new line of boldly flavored plant-based chips, popcorn, puffs, and rinds.

2. Invested in vegan bacon startup Umaro Foods, which has raised $4M from an array of investors including Mark Cuban.

Since going vegan in 2019, Chris Paul is an outspoken advocate for the benefits of a healthy plant-based lifestyle.

He’s also an investor in Beyond Meat, Koia, and Misha’s Kind Foods.

Athletes who get behind brands that align with their own mission/beliefs are a winning combination for all relevant parties.

Umaro Foods, which makes realistic bacon from seaweed. Co-founder and CEO Beth Zotter reveals her company connected with Paul through a chance encounter with his agent, and the athlete became the first person outside Umaro to try the product.

Umaro has raised at least $4M from other investors, including Shark Tank’s Mark Cuban, and launched into US food service in June.

The Chris Paul partnership kicks off with two new dishes: CP3 BLT and Chopped Spinach Salad with Umaro Bacon.
