CAMB.AI, a trailblazing artificial intelligence firm based in Dubai known for its innovative speech technology, has successfully raised $4 million in seed financing. This round of funding was spearheaded by Courtside Ventures and supported by an array of investors including TRTL Ventures, Blue Star Innovation Partners, Ikemori Ventures, and Eisaburo Maeda, with the Dubai Future District Fund being among the early backers.
The company gained recognition as a part of the Dubai Future Accelerator program in 2023 and earned a spot on the Future 100 Company list in the UAE. The investment is set to bolster CAMB.AI’s rapid growth and development since its inception in 2022, enhancing its proprietary technologies like MARS TTS and BOLI Translator designed for seamless voice localization.
The company’s advanced technologies offer more than simple translation; they replicate the original speaker’s tone and emotional nuances with minimal input, ensuring the message’s impact remains intact across languages. With a diverse language support system, including languages like Afrikaans, Malay, and Basque, CAMB.AI is at the forefront of fostering global inclusivity in communication.
Vasu Kulkarni, a partner at Courtside Ventures, praised the technology for its potential to bridge language gaps, especially highlighting the significance for diverse linguistic regions like India. The founding team, Avneesh Prakash (CEO) and Akshat Prakash (CTO), have devoted years to developing a technology that has already powered over 100M views of dubbed content, serving a wide array of clients including sports leagues, media companies, and individual content creators.
The technology’s impact was notably demonstrated in Nayla Al Khaja’s horror film “Three,” marking a significant milestone as the world’s first fully AI-dubbed multilingual feature film, showcased at the Red Sea Festival in Saudi Arabia. CAMB.AI’s solution addresses the critical challenge of preserving the emotional and cultural essence of content across languages, utilizing Generative AI for efficient and authentic dubbing and translation.
The recent funding is expected to accelerate the development and global expansion of CAMB.AI’s technology, enhancing accessibility and personalization of digital content worldwide. The company has also been recognized by Major League Soccer and selected for the 2024 AO Startups Program, indicating broad interest and potential applications of its technology in making content universally accessible and engaging.
