The enthusiasm for women’s sports is on the rise, marked by the Atlanta VIBE pro volleyball team embarking on their inaugural season.

The team has already shown promising talent, securing victories in their initial matches that were closely contested and played away from home. Adding to the excitement, they will be supported by a notable new backer during their homecoming matches – former NBA star and Atlanta Hawk, Paul Millsap.

Atlanta's VIBE Pro Volleyball Season Kicks Off, Team Greeted with New InvestorMillsap, celebrated for his four All-Star appearances, was inspired to invest in the team by his daughters’ passion for volleyball, which they played during their high school years.

“The level of energy, the passion, the leadership displayed by women on the court is truly inspiring,” Millsap remarked. “Having daughters of my own, it’s profoundly impactful for them to see women in such empowering roles on TV and social media.”

He also shared his intentions to offer guidance and mentorship to the team members, drawing from his extensive experience as a 16-year veteran of the NBA.

Colleen Craig, who founded the Atlanta VIBE, expressed that the partnership with Millsap was driven by a mutual desire to nurture and support the growth of women’s sports.

Craig and Millsap bonded over their shared vision for the team and its significance to the community, emphasizing unity and collective engagement.

As volleyball gains traction as the most-watched women’s sport, Craig is optimistic about its future. She encourages more people to recognize and support the sport, believing in the unique platform it offers to showcase female athletes.

“Our hope is that more individuals will recognize the potential of this platform, which has grown naturally, and what it can achieve in promoting women’s sports,” Craig concluded.
