MVP Index, a leading sports and entertainment sponsorship valuation platform, has successfully raised US$20 million in a Series B funding round to support its expansion plans.

Verance Capital, a New York-based investment firm with expertise in sports and media properties, led the round. Align Capital, along with several professional athletes and team ownership groups who were already investors, also participated in the funding.

With this latest investment, MVP Index has raised a total of US$27 million since its inception. The company intends to utilize the funds to further enhance its product, focusing on product refinement and bolstering its sales and marketing initiatives.

This will enable MVP Index to continue providing top-notch services and maintain its position as a leading player in the sports and entertainment sponsorship valuation market.

The Austin-based company claims to have a unique platform that goes beyond traditional logo tracking and measurement in sponsorship valuation.

Using computer vision-based technology, the company can track and measure sponsorship value at an asset level, including logos and objects, across various platforms such as broadcast, streaming, digital, and experiential activations. This technology allows for a detailed breakdown of the value associated with each asset.

The platform can identify both prominent assets like perimeter or on-pitch advertising, kit, and equipment branding, as well as subtle activations like product placement, even in fashion items with subtle branding.
