Aaron Rodgers is seeking support from the crowdfunding community to aid a multimillionaire with a $1.25M raise for OSDB Sports.
Teaming up with co-founder Ryan Rottman, the New York Jets QB launched Online Sports Database, often described as the “IMDB for athletes.”
This platform provides comprehensive information about players, including their position, height, weight, jersey number, college, endorsement details, and intriguing facts, as reported by Bloomberg.
With current funding of $4 million, Rodgers and Rottman are now turning to a “crowdsourcing campaign” in the hopes of raising an additional $1.25 million, as stated in the same report.
“I like the idea of giving fans the opportunity to invest and get behind something they feel connected to, like OSDB,” Aaron Rodgers said in a statement to Bloomberg.
Do you know who isn’t a fan of this? Deadspin, who claimed OSDB is ripping off their content.
Crowdfunding for Athletes
Athletes have long been viewed as “???????????????? ????????????????????”, making people want to stay away from their business endeavors.
But…
As athletes get more financially savvy and make impressive investments.
???? ???????????????????? ???????????? ???????????????????????????????????? (???????????? ????????????????????????????????) ???????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????? ???????????????? ???????????????? ???????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????’???? ???????????????? ????????????????????????.
Something like OSDB might not excite fans as much (only $30k has been raised), but a popular sports drink or consumer product might.

It seems as if Rodger’s is trying to diversify his risk – if he really liked the opportunity he would be putting up the $1.25M himself.
