$35M Series B for GameOn Technology

GameOn Technology, the industry’s leading conversational chat platform, announced today that it has closed a $35 million Series B financing round, co-led jointly by Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Mighty Capital.

The company now has a total of $54 million in funding. Jim Davidson, a private investor; Mark Attanasio (owner of the Milwaukee Brewers); Quest Venture Partners; The Wilf family, who own the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings; Great Point Ventures are the investors in this round.

This funding will allow GameOn to expand its sports presence and scale business development, marketing, and technical efforts. It will also enable GameOn to move into new verticals such as retail, which will create sustainable revenue streams for some of the most recognized consumer brands in the world.

GameOn’s platform powers a variety of major league sports chat technology, including the NBA, NHL, PGA Tour, and FIFA.

This technology enhances brand-to-fan experiences by providing personalized content such as highlights, videos, live scores, and highlights.

Brands can leverage intelligent chat to communicate with their fans in real-time and increase fan engagement. This is in addition to the existing customer service and support functions.

GameOn is used in teams such as Arsenal F.C., Milwaukee Bucks, and the Las Vegas Raiders.

It is also supported by numerous athlete investors, including NFL legend Joe Montana, NBA Hall of Famer Gary Payton, and NBA players Andre Iguodala, Mo Bamba, and others.

“We’re excited not only to continue to scale up our foothold in the sports industry but also increase our reach and influence over the chat space as a whole,” said GameOn CEO and Co-Founder Alex Beckman.

“Chat has always been used as a defensive tool, but there are over 3 billion people chatting every day. GameOn has unlocked the chat experience and turned it into an offensive, revenue-generating machine for a wide variety of teams and industries to develop a deeper and more substantial relationship with their consumers.”

GameOn’s chat service generates a lot of conversation and drives click-throughs from users more than 50% of the time. This includes up to 65% commerce-related content, as well as 10x the user engagement compared to traditional paid searches.

This is a unique opportunity for brands to increase revenue in other verticals than sports.
