Loop Golf Secures $1M in Funding

Loop Golf (Loop), the innovative online booking platform designed to help golfers secure the best tee times at busy local courses, has announced the completion of a $1 million seed funding round. This investment propels Loop’s mission to become the leading marketplace for booking tee times at any course across the United States. Established in 2021, Loop saw a major opportunity in the market for a user-friendly, all-encompassing platform that streamlines the outdated tee-time booking process for U.S. golfers.

Loop’s platform takes the hassle out of booking tee times by automatically securing the desired slots for golfers. Users set their preferences, and Loop’s system monitors availability 24/7, booking a matching tee time as soon as it opens up—even during the night or when users are occupied.

Loop Golf Secures $1M in FundingCurrently, Loop supports over 3,000 courses across the U.S., including premium courses like Torrey Pines and Bethpage, which are not available on other platforms. Loop has also formed strategic partnerships with leading industry software and point-of-sale systems such as Lightspeed and ForeUp, reinforcing its status as the go-to tee-time marketplace.

The funding round was led by Jason Calacanis’ LAUNCH, with contributions from prominent figures in finance, technology, and sports, including Joel Simkins, CEO & Founder of XST Capital Group; Harry Campbell, Owner of The Rideshare Guy; Colin Anderson, Founding Partner at Friends & Family Capital; and Mike Russo, Founder of SparkOffer.

Tee times represent a significant revenue stream in the $102 billion golf industry, being a crucial and frequent transaction for public golfers. However, booking tee times at public courses in America has become exceedingly difficult due to the surge in golf’s popularity following COVID-19, with 531 million rounds played at U.S. courses in 2023.

Compounding the issue, there has been no net increase in the number of golf courses in the U.S. for decades, leading to a supply shortage amid rising demand. Outdated technology and booking practices have further diminished availability, leaving many golfers unable to secure tee times and feeling frustrated.
