DivInc Launches New Sports Technology Program

DivInc is excited to introduce its Spring 2024 Sports Tech Accelerator, aimed at fostering advancements in various sectors such as athlete performance, audience engagement, sports betting, media evolution, and innovations in stadium technology.

Ashley DeWalt, the Managing Director at DivInc Houston, remarked, “Following the unparalleled success of our first sports tech accelerator, we’re leveraging that momentum for this new phase. The inclusion of distinguished partners like Rice University and the underdog venture team will undoubtedly propel our founders to significantly influence the $55 billion sports technology market by 2030.”

HTX Sports Tech continues its partnership with DivInc, featuring Nate Thompson, its co-founder, as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence. Nate’s extensive background in integrating new technologies in Major League Baseball offers invaluable insights and network opportunities to the program participants.

This year, like its 2022 debut, DivInc will work closely with professional sports teams and top advisory firms, utilizing their expertise to mentor and guide the participants. The underdog venture team joins as a new partner, contributing seasoned insights into founder development and program design.

The 12-week hybrid accelerator, starting in April and running through July 2024, will host ten selected companies at the Ion in Houston’s innovation hub. The program’s participants include:

  • Parscape (Chicago, IL & Los Angeles, CA)
  • TRAINR (Houston, TX)
  • WEVOLV (Rochester, NY)

Supporting the Spring 2024 cohort are underdog venture team, Women In Sports Tech (WIST), The Collectiv, and HTX Sports Tech, along with DivInc Premier Partners such as Bank of America, J.P. Morgan Chase & Co., Gunderson Dettmer, Brown Advisory, Ion, and Mercury.
