USL Super League and Peacock Sign Long-Term Media Rights Deal

The USL Super League, a new Division One professional women’s soccer league debuting in the U.S. this summer, and Peacock have announced a partnership naming the streaming service the “Official Home of the USL Super League” from the league’s first season onward. This multi-year deal is part of a broader collaboration with NBCUniversal, which will also see other USL leagues utilize NBC Sports Next’s SportsEngine Play streaming service and advanced digital products.

Starting from the USL Super League’s opening weekend on August 17-18, all regular season and playoff games – totaling 115 matches – will be available to stream on Peacock for fans across the United States.

USL Super League and Peacock Sign Long-Term Media Rights DealSince 2020, Peacock has been a key destination for soccer enthusiasts in the U.S., with its acclaimed coverage of the Premier League, Telemundo’s record-breaking Spanish-language broadcasts of the FIFA World Cup, and Olympic soccer. The USL Super League joins Peacock’s lineup of women’s sports, which includes the Olympics, FIFA Women’s World Cup, Big Ten basketball, championship golf, and more.

“We are excited to collaborate with NBCUniversal and Peacock to offer a premium viewing experience for USL Super League fans nationwide,” said Amanda Vandervort, President of the USL Super League. “NBC Sports and Peacock have set a high standard for soccer coverage in the U.S., and their commitment to the USL Super League highlights the significant role we play in advancing women’s soccer, creating opportunities for players, coaches, and fans. Our matches will be conveniently accessible in one place, and we look forward to partnering with Peacock to establish the Super League as a global leader both on and off the field, while also working with NBC Sports Next’s SportsEngine Play to reach millions of young athletes and their families.”

The USL Super League, sanctioned by U.S. Soccer to compete at the Division One level, is the latest professional women’s soccer league in the United States. The inaugural season includes eight clubs: Brooklyn FC, Carolina Ascent FC, Dallas Trinity FC, DC Power FC, Fort Lauderdale United FC, Lexington SC, Spokane Zephyr FC, and Tampa Bay Sun FC. The Fall Schedule features 14 matches per club from August to December, before pausing for a winter break.

This media rights deal is part of an expanded partnership between the United Soccer League and NBCUniversal, originally established in 2021 when the USL partnered with NBC Sports Next to launch a new digital network for the league and its clubs. Key elements of the expanded partnership, beyond the USL Super League-Peacock agreement, include:

  • SportsEngine Play, NBC Sports Next’s first streaming service dedicated to youth and amateur sports, is now the official home of the USL League Two and USL W League, the premier pre-professional leagues for men and women, respectively.
  • As an “official technology partner” of the USL, all USL Academy and USL Youth clubs can implement SportsEngine, the leading team and tournament technology for youth sports, into their operations. USL Youth includes nearly 600 teams and over 9,000 players.
  • USL clubs and organizations can also benefit from ClubBuy, a group-purchasing program managed by NBC Sports Next that offers up to 20 percent savings on products and services necessary for their operations, including equipment, office supplies, wireless services, and more.

“We’re proud to deepen our relationship with the USL, focusing not only on engaging their passionate fanbase but also on providing greater access to top-tier soccer for new audiences, particularly young players and their families,” said Will McIntosh, President of NBC Sports Next. “The USL will greatly enhance the live sports offerings on Peacock and SportsEngine Play, along with the training and development content available through a SportsEngine Play subscription.”

Together, NBCUniversal platforms will stream over 1,000 matches live or on-demand each year across the USL Super League, USL League Two, and USL W League.
