Absolute Sports Acquires SoapCentral.com Assets

Absolute Sports, a subsidiary of Nazara Technologies and the parent company of Sportskeeda.com and ProFootballNetwork.com, is set to acquire the assets of SoapCentral.com, a leading US-based entertainment content provider.

The acquisition, valued at $1.4 million (approximately Rs 11.6 crore), is structured as an all-cash deal and is expected to be finalized within the next 30 days. SoapCentral.com reported revenues of $621,000 (around Rs 5.2 crore) in CY23.

Absolute Sports Acquires SoapCentral.com AssetsAbsolute Sports will finance the acquisition using its cash reserves. This marks Absolute Sports’ second acquisition in the US sports media market. Earlier this year, the company acquired a 73.27% stake in Pro Football Network LLC.

Through its flagship brand Sportskeeda, Absolute Sports covers sports and esports, reaching over 100 million fans each month. Nazara Technologies, which is publicly traded, acquired a majority stake in Absolute Sports in 2019, when the company was a decade old.

Pro Football Network, with over 5 million unique monthly active users, is a well-known NFL-focused sports site in the US. Absolute Sports also operates SK Pop (Pop-Culture) and has a proven track record of scaling entertainment content under the SK-Pop brand. The company aims to leverage its content scaling and operational expertise to transform SoapCentral.com into a leading entertainment content destination for fans in the US.
